Fernando Verdasco opens the play against Andreas Beck today in the quarter finals of the Davis Cup at the Puerto Banús bullring. It’s an interesting match as the two have already met in the Davis Cup last year in Argentina.
The order of play draw was made by the Mayor of Marbella, Ángeles Muñoz in the Club de Mar in Puerto Banús on Thursday.
In the other singles match today Tommy Robredo will meet the German Number One, Philipp Kohlschreiber.
Saturday sees a single doubles match between Feliciano López and Fernando Verdasco against Nicolas Kiefer and Misha Zverev.
Finally the Spanish captain, Alberto Costa, decided to drop Nicolás Almagro, who disappointed has already returned home to Murcia, and use Juan Carlos Ferrero as substitute and the fourth member of the team.
Play will be shown on TVE-1 television today, Friday from 1pm.
