How to rob a car without taking it awaylarger |
smallerBy h.b. - Jul 28, 2009 - 7:21 AMA Canary Island man found his car was gone - or was it?
A man from Santa Cruz de Tenerife stole his neighbour’s car, changed the number plates for some belonging to his own vehicle, and then parked the car as his own in the same street.
Both the cars were white Ford Fiestas, according to a statement from the Local Police who have now uncovered the plan after the first owner reported his car as stolen on July 12.
The victim told the police that there was a car, identical to his own, parked in his own street. There were certain other cosmetic changes made to the vehicle, with new painting on the wing mirrors, new hub caps, and a new tinted rear window.
However police confirmed the identity of the original car from the chassis number. They are now searching for the man who carried out the modifications.
