The Spanish Deputy Prime Minister was suffering from stomach painsThe Deputy Prime Minister, María Teresa Fernández de la Vega, has been admitted to hospital and has undergone surgery, after suffering from stomach pains.
A statement from the Madrid clinic said that her condition is not serious and that she is progressing normally. She is expected to be allowed home in the next few days.
It means that she has been unable to attend the Government Control Session in Congress today, which has been postponed as a consequence.
