The two re-offenders could not have their vehicles confiscated as they were not their property
A judge has decided to take action against two men resident in Elda after they were both caught driving without a licence on a fifth occasion last month. The two must now spend their five-month sentences handed down by the judge behind bars.
Diario Información reports them to be amongst the first cases where the harsher measure has been imposed on re-offenders since driving without a licence became a crime in May last year. The prosecutor in both cases had originally planned to ask for their vehicles to be confiscated as a penance for the re-offence, but it turned out that the vehicles being driven by the two accused last month were not, in fact, their property.
