It follows agreement between the Provincial Court and City Hall
People who pick up traffic fines in Alicante could find themselves joining the Municipal Brigade, and having to help clean the graffiti off the city’s streets to clear their debt. It follows an agreement between the City Hall and the Provincial Court allowing community sentences to be issued for the repair of vandalism.
The Municipal Brigade was in operation between July and October thanks to a grant from the Emcorp employment program, but now its costs will be less for the City Hall as it takes advantage of those ordered to do community service.
