An 89 year old man is meanwhile under arrest for the murder of a neighbour in Cantabria
There have been two arrests in northern Spain in connection with the death of a 77 year old man in Navarra and, in a separate killing, of another man, aged 41, in Cantabria.
The suspect in the first case is the 63 year old wife of the pensioner who was found stabbed to death at his home in Tafalla early on Monday night. Sources quoted by Europa Press say the wife appears to have grabbed a knife to defend herself during a violent argument with her husband, and detectives are now trying to determine if she purposely stabbed him or if he fell upon the weapon and accidentally stabbed himself in the chest.
In Cantabria, an 89 year old man is in custody after his neighbour was found shot to death at a stables in Esles de Cayón, also on Monday night. It, too, appears to have happened during an argument.
