It will run 68 kms from Caravaca de la Cruz to Jumilla
Journey time between Caravaca de la Cruz and Jumilla is to be cut by half with a new motorway which will connect Andalucía with Valencia through inland Murcia as an alternative to travelling via the A-7 Autovía del Mediterraneo. It means the trip between the two towns will be made in just half an hour.
Murcia’s Regional President, Ramón Luís Valcárcel, said while presenting the study for the projet this Wednesday that the 68 kms of the Autovía del Norte will use the route of the current RM-714 road, which, once converted into a four-lane motorway, will be able to take 10 million vehicles every year. The RM-714 is currently used by around 2 million vehicles a year.
The cost to the regional government will be 325 million € and it’s understood from La Opinión de Murcia that construction will start in two years’ time.
