Despite still being under contract to Renault until the end of the year, Fernando Alonso has been given permission to attend the Ferrari World Finals at the Cheste racetrack in Valencia this weekend. It will be the first time that Alonso will be with the team which will be his new home in Formula One next year.

Stefano Domenicali, head of the Ferrari team, has thanked the French team for the permission on the Ferrari website, describing it as a generous gesture which is much appreciated.

Ferrari's World Finals event combines the decisive races of the Italian, European and North American series of the Ferrari Challenge Pirelli Trophy and the Shell Ferrari Historic Challenge.
