There’s been yet another arrest in the Civil Guard investigation into the murder of Alejandro Ponsoda, the Partido Popular Mayor of Polop de la Marina who was fatally shot outside his home in Xirles two years ago. He died eight days after the shooting.
The first arrest in the case was a 34 year old Spaniard, R.M.T., who was arrested in Albatera on 5th November, a wanted criminal who is believed to have acted with two professional hit men, thought to be Czech, who were contracted to kill the Mayor. The second suspect was taken into custody this Sunday. He’s the owner of a local shoe store, named as Salvador R.G.
Suspect No. 3 was arrested on Tuesday, and is known to be male. He was taken into custody at an unidentified location in the Marina Baixa. It’s also been confirmed by sources quoted by EFE that he does not hold a public position.
