The judge instructing the Malaya corruption case in Marbella has asked a TV production company to retain the payment they are due to make to the town’s former Mayor, Julián Muñoz, for his appearance on the Telecinco programme ‘Sálvame Deluxe’. It’s understood from Europa Press to have been broadcast on 6th November, after which Judge Óscar Pérez asked Telecinco to identify the production company involved.

The total amount has not been disclosed, but it’s reported to have been requested to cover a guarantee bond for any future civil responsibility in the Malaya case.

Muñoz’s payment of 188,000 € for another interview with Telecinco was previously embargoed by the judge, together with part of a property he owns in Ávila. The judge ordered another embargo two months ago on part of the ex Mayor’s monthly wages and the savings he had put by in the bank since his release as a third grade prisoner in October last year.

The guarantee bonds set for Julián Muñoz in connection with Malaya are noted by Diario Sur as a total of 1 million €.

It was the former Marbella Mayor’s 62nd birthday this Wednesday, when he was seen at the Spanish Pure Breed International Horse Fair, the SICAB, with his new girlfriend, Karina Pau, sharing a kiss for the cameras.
