Local company donates soap and toilet paper to an Estepona school

There have been problems with supplies to the schools owing to the financial situation of the Town Hall

An Estepona company, on hearing the recent news in the press that the Town Hall’s financial problems are now affecting supplies to local schools, made a donation this Monday to one of the schools concerned: a delivery to the Simón Fernández state school of 400 litres of bleach, 200 litres of liquid soap, and plenty of supplies of toilet paper.

The company’s representative, Jesús Morales, told journalists at a press conference on Monday that he hopes other local companies will now follow their example.

The donation came after the news two weeks ago that another school had written to parents asking them to send in their contributions of toilet paper and soap.

It’s understood from Europa Press that the company which supplies cleaning products to the Town Hall refused to make any more deliveries until their last bill of 6,000 € was settled, out of a total debt of 85,000 €. A payment plan was agreed, but according to the local councillor for education, Rocío Andrades, the Town Hall’s financial situation has meant that they have been unable to meet it.
