RENFE Spanish Railways are adding 5,300 more seats to the AVE high speed train service between Málaga and Barcelona this month. The new services start on December 5, and will include many cheaper seats available over the Internet.
20% of the seats will be the Estrella or Web tariffs allowing travel between Barcelona and Málaga for just 53 € 40 cents.
The extra capacity comes to meet the demand being seen for the bank holiday next weekend, the Puente de la Constitución when double the usual number of seats will be available, and continues over the Christmas and New Year until January 7.
The Málaga-Barcelona trains bypass Madrid and can make the 1,100 km trip in five hours 40 minutes.
