A property which the main suspect in Marbella’s Malaya corruption case owns on Mallorca, has been taken over by squatters, Diario Sur has revealed. The property on the coast in Cala d’Or is owned by Juan Antonio Roca, the former real estate assessor at Marbella Town Hall. It is managed by an agent, who made two reports to the Civil Guard in October that there were clear signs that it had been broken into and occupied.

The administrator appointed to oversee the companies owned by Roca which were embargoed as part of the Malaya case has now informed the Malaya judge, Óscar Pérez, of the situation and has asked him to take steps.

There was another break-in at the property in February last year when it was still sealed off as part of the Malaya investigation. A woman from Austria was arrested when she was seen leaving the chalet with paintings, mirrors and candelabras which she had stolen from the house. Officers discovered a number of other valuable items which she had already loaded into her car.
