A Málaga own goal gives Getafe an important away goal

A 2-1 win at the Rosaleda will give encouragement to Málaga in the King’s Cup last 16. However the away goal for Getafe was the result of a defensive error and own goal from the Málaga side when they were 2-0 ahead.

The Málaga goals came from Apoño in the ninth minute,a and Edinho just before half time. The own goal came from Stepanov who found his own goal as he was trying to clear the ball.
It will be an interesting return leg in two weeks time. Málaga have never progressed as far in the competition.

The results of the other first leg matches played on Thursday were
Hercules 2 – Osasuna 1
Rayo 2 – Mallorca 1
