Top Spanish Chef, Ferrán Adriá, has announced that he is to close El Bulli, considered to be the best restaurant of the world.
Speaking at the Madrid Fusión Gastronomy Fair on Tuesday, he announced plans to close the venue in 2012 and 2013 with the intention of using the time to work on new creativity in the menu.
He’s promised that they won’t be sabbatical years but that it was a personal decision as he needed more time with his team to reorganise everything for 2014.
El Bulli, which can be found in Roses, Girona, has been offering dinners between April and October, with a closed menu which has changed each season. It won the Best Restaurant of the World honour from
Restaurant magazine for the fourth consecutive year in April 2009. The magazine surveys 800 chefs, critics and experts from the industry.
