The President of the regional Valencia government, La Generalitat, Francisco Camps, is reported to have signed a deal with Microsoft for a new Health Innovation Centre to be built in the Valencia region. It will be the first such centre in the world.
Camps was in New York to sign the deal on Tuesday, and also hosted a lunch for Spanish and United States businessmen. He said that the details of the project and of where it will be located will be given in ‘one or two weeks’.
Speculation is that the centre will be in Alicante, as Microsoft has already expressed a preference for the city, thanks to its good air communications, the already existent specialist health services in the area, and also because of the high number of retired residents living locally. However the regional government is thought to prefer Valencia or Castellón for the new centre.
