Ex P.P. Mayor of Montroi, Valencia arrested in new corruption case

83 homes are said to have been built on rustic land in the municipality

The ex Partido Popular Mayor of Montroi in Valencia, Francisco Javier Carrión, has been arrested on charges of town planning corruption.

Another six people have also been arrested in the case which is linked to the construction of 83 homes on rustic, non-buildable land in the municipality.

The Guardia Civil swooped on the local Town Hall on Wednesday morning and a search of the premises is continuing. Seven homes and three companies in Valencia are also reported to be undergoing searches. First investigations in the case got underway at the Valencia Prosecutors’ Office a year ago.

El Mundo quotes the Government Delegate in Valencia, Ricardo Peralta has said that there other people from public bodies detained.
