Six people have died in a fire in a private pensioner’s home in Sevilla. The fatalities are three women and two men, while the sixth victim, who died in hospital, is yet to be identified and there are several injured who have been taken to different hospitals across the city.
The tragedy happened at the ‘Aurora’ residence in Calle Marqués de Nervión in the city centre, despite the fire service arriving at the scene just four and a half minutes after being called to the scene just before Midnight on Monday night. Six fire crews attended the scene.
There were 19 residents and two monitors in the building when the blaze broke out. The monitors and three of the residents escaped unhurt.
The cause of the blaze is still being investigated but it’s known to have broken out in one of the rooms on the third floor.
