A 71 year old British man has been stabbed to death in his home on Tenerife, it appears during a robbery.

The victim has been named as Peter Cockshutt, and he was stabbed twice in the chest and once in the leg. His body was found at 17.20pm on Monday night in an urbanisation on the Costa del Silencio, on the south of Tenerife, when a friend called at his home.

The Guardia Civil found two windows of the property had been forced and the house ransacked.
A full Guardia Civil investigation is underway and an autopsy is being carried out today, Tuesday.

The victim’s son in law said the family at Brandesburton, near Driffield, East Yorkshire were devastated. The pensioner couple had been splitting six months of each year between Spain and the U.K.
