A search is underway for the Imam from the Mosque at El Algar in Murcia in connection with the alleged abuse carried out against several Moroccan youngsters.
The 48 year old man has been responsible for the Mosque since last September, and La Verdad reports that he vanished a few days ago when he found out that he had been denounced by the children’s families.
Islamist representatives in the Murcia region have said that they are the first who want to clear up the matter, while the General Director of the Youngster and Family in the Murcia Region, Laura Muñoz, said that the children are being attended to by experts at the Proyecto Luz, a service from the Department of Social Policy designer to help them overcome the trauma. They are waiting to help four more children once their families or the judge makes a request.
