Two points remain between Real Madrid and Barcelona

It was a 6-2 thrashing for Real Madrid against Villarreal on Sunday, with Cristiano Ronaldo on top form, scoring a great goal from a free kick and taking part in three more. It means the gap at the top of the table remains two points after Barcelona found their form against Racing with it ending 4-0. Ibrahomovic pickled up an ankle injury and is a doubt for Barça against Stuttgart. Already out for the game through injury are Keita, Abidal, Xavi and Dani Alves.

Sevilla beat Mallorca at home 1-3, Deportivo suffered against Xerez, Athletico de Madrid returned to poor form in Almería and Málaga managed another win.
