David Villa celebrates a goal yesterday - EFE

Both goals for Valencia came from David Villa

A good result for Valencia in the league last night with a 2-1 win at the Mestalla against Getafe. Both the goals came from David Villa and takes his tally for the season to 17, overtaking Leo Messi.

It keeps Valencia third in the table.

Getafe were unable to capitalise when Valencia were left with 10 players with a quarter of an hour to go when Alexis was sent off.
