Reporting restrictions in the Astapa corruption case, based in Estepona Town Hall, were partially lifted on Wednesday by the investigating judge Jesús Torres.
El País says that one of the volumes released shows how in June 2008 National Police found a large amount of money in cash on the day that they carried out their swoops on the Town Hall and other properties.
852,553 €, 33,981 dollars, 27,820 franks and 7,630 pounds sterling in total.
660,557 € was found in cash in the home of the real estate promotor, Féliz Delgado, the brother in law of the Socialist councillor, Francisco Zamorano, who has since been expelled from the party. Delgado is currently on 100,000 € bail and faces charges of influence peddling, bribery and perversion of the course of justice.
We also now that as many as 95 current bank accounts, 13 investment funds, shares and a pensions plan have all been blocked by the investigators worth, according to Europa Press, 13.6 million €.
