Turespaña ( The Spanish Institute of Tourism) has launched an innovative online campaign on social networks, such as Facebook, Twitter and Youtube relating to the subject, “Spain, a country to share”. The project aims to completely change the way of communicating and promoting Spanish destinations, going beyond the classic idea of Spain as a destination for “sun and beach”.

Plainly it consists on Spaniards sharing with those who visit their country the hidden corners to visit, and the best secrets of gastronomy or culture. With this information, travellers become connoisseurs of the best places in the country.
For this reason we have launched several online tools:

1. On Facebook
Spain already has its own Fan Page on Facebook, www.facebook.com/spainacountrytoshare where they can upload photos and make suggestions on sites that are not to be missed. Locations in Spain are proposed and ranked according to the following categories:

- The best beach on our shores
- The best sunset in Spain
- The most original patron saint festival
- The best place to get away from everything
- The best nighttime party
- The best restaurant:

2. Ask your questions at Formspring.me
Also, in order to encourage the feedback from those willing to visit Spain, Turespaña has launched a new tool, Formspring.me, through which everybody who wishes so can put questions and receive an immediate answer. It is a direct channel from Spain to the rest of the world. http://www.formspring.me/ilovespain

3. A Website with experiences to share
Turespaña has also created a micro-site in English at www.spainacountrytoshare.com with unique, entertaining, and highly useful tourist information for those who would like to visit our country. Foreigners portray Spain as a destination where things will happen that they will want to tell others and share. If there is anything a tourist appreciates, it’s having stories to tell when they go back home! The anecdotes and odd things that happen out of place in their normal environments are the things that will make their vacations in Spain perfect and unforgettable.
There are separate sections with proposals to share:
- Can we help you? Users can click on a map with the different Spanish provinces. It then suggests places to visit or plans to make.
- Time to share: This is separated into several sections with recommendations for art, cuisine, events, sports, wine cellars, health destinations, and even business possibilities.
- Feelings to share: Suggests routes related to how we are feeling. Where would be a good place to go to get some time away to think? What about a romantic escape? How about having an adventure or to go out clubbing?
- Trip Planning Advisor: This section provides users with distinctive interesting routes depending on the time they have to visit, whether it is three days, a week, or two weeks.
- Top 10 to share: The ten places that Spanish users have recommended most often appear here.
- Regions to share: Information about the Autonomous Communities of Spain through links pointing to their websites.

4. Tourism of Spain is giving a free week vacation in Spain for three years in a row.
The Best Feeling Ever is an online application exclusively designed for those willing to visit Spain. It allows them to participate in several activities not only will they improve their knowledge of Spain, but they will be rewarded with incentives such as the possibility of getting a free week vacation in Spain for three years in a row. In order to win the prize they will have to receive points by eagerly engaging in the activities and making the other users vote for them. It is very simple, you only have to go to www.facebook.com/spainacountrytoshare and open the application “The best feeling ever”.
