The new charge has upset the unionsIf you want to watch television in hospital in Alicante it will cost you 3€. The General Hospital has defended the daily per room charge, saying that it will allow them to change to a digital system.
Union UGT has been critical however, describing the cost as ‘abusive’ given that the service has been free in the past.
Información reports that the hospital managers say the digital TDT system will be able to offer IP telephone and internet connection points. The paper quotes a patient who thinks the charge is unjust, especially for those who have to stay in hospital a long time.
