The town is still rocking from the murder of Mayor Alejandro PonsodaThe ex second Deputy Mayor of Polop de la Marina, Pilar Villaueva from the PP, has presented her resignation as a councillor in the town. She has also been the councillor responsible for the environment and education upto now.
Municipal sources told EFE news agency that a letter arrived first thing on Friday morning, and an extraordinary council meeting will be called in the next few days as a result.
It comes just three months after the PP ex Mayor, Juan Cano, was jailed for his alleged implication in the shooting dead of his predecessor, Alejandro Ponsoda, it’s claimed over a real estate deal.
The municipality has six PP councillors, three GdP independents, and two from the Valencian Socialist Party.
