The prosecutor also wants to see Juan Millán banned from holding public office for 17 yearsThe Prosecutors’ Office has asked for a two year prison sentence, and a 17 year ban from pubic office, for the Socialist Mayor of La Viñuela, Málaga, for granting three licences to build on non-buildable land.
Juan Millán is accused of ignoring two technical reports and any go ahead from the Junta de Andalucía.
The case is awaiting sentence in the Penal Court 8 in Málaga.
It comes after the Málaga Provincial Court found the Mayor of neighbouring Sayalonga, José Luis Navas, not guilty after he had previously been given a year’s jail sentence from the Penal Court on similar charges. He resigned before the guilty verdict was turned around. His defence was that there was ‘administrative silence from the Junta’ on the matter, and now Juan Millán is using the same arguments, saying that he believed he had acted correctly.
