Her burnt body was on a lounger on the balcony of her home

Local police at Artà, Mallorca, found the burnt body of a 70 year old woman on a lounger on the balcony of her home.

Sources at the 112 emergency service say the rest of the house was almost untouched, leading police to consider possible suspicious circumstances, although at this stage all options are being kept open, including that it was an accidental death caused by her smoking on the lounger.

A full investigation is now underway.
