The snow moves away but cold temperatures remain across Spain today

Clear skies across Spain today, but that means it’s going to be very cold in most areas with the Spanish Meteorological Agency putting the North, NE and inland areas of the country on yellow alert because of the low temperatures.

30 provinces are on alert in total, most in Castilla La Mancha and Cataluña. They are Huesca, Teruel, Zaragoza, Cantabria, Albacete, Ciudad Real, Cuenca, Guadalajara, Toledo, Ávila, Burgos, León, Palencia, Salamanca, Segovia, Soria, Zamora, Tarragona, Madrid, Navarra, Ourense, Ibiza y Formentera, Mallorca, La Rioja and Asturias.

Barcelona, Girona and Lleida remain on Orange Alert for cold.
Strong Northerly winds in some areas, such as the Ebro Valley and Menorca where speeds will reach upto 80 kms/hour, will add to the sensation of cold.

The only areas expected to see rain today will be the Baleares where the rain will fall as snow above 200m.
There will be some cloud later in the far west of Andalucía.

Temperatures
Highs: Santa Cruz de Tenerife 22, Málaga 17, Cádiz 15, Almería 14, Alicante, Murcia 12, Valencia 11, Granada 10, Madrid 9, Barcelona, Santander 8, Palma de Mallorca 6
Lows: Santa Cruz de Tenerife 16, Cádiz 7, Málaga 6, Almería, Santander 5, Alicante 4, Valencia 3, Murcia 2, Plama de Mallorca 1, Barcelona, Madrid -2, Granada -3
