An estimated 50,000 homes in Girona remain without power this morning after the heavy snowfalls seen in the area 36 hours ago.
Endesa says it hopes to return power to them all sometime today, and notes that 220,000 homes were without power for a time because of the snow which brought down several high tension power cables.
They say that as many as 25 pylons have been brought down and damage was caused to 11 electricity sub-stations.
In addition Telefónica hopes to reconnect all clients after 50,000 land lines went down, along with mobile coverage in some areas, with Girona most affected.

worst problem remains at La Jonquera where at 9am this morning the hold up on the AP-7 was still 19 kilometres. Overnight it had been 50 kilometres long.
Before the road reopened yesterday there were as many as 9,000 stranded lorries on different parking areas across the region waiting to cross into France.
