The body of an immigrant, thought to be Moroccan, has been found in the wreck of a burnt out lorry in Benalmadena.

The paperless immigrant had hidden in a space next to the engine of the lorry which caught fire at 2210pm on Thursday night when travelling along the A-7 above Benalmádena. The drivers cab was completely gutted by the fire, and the cargo of the lorry meant the fire lasted for several hours.

The A-7 only saw all three lanes reopen at 9am on Friday morning.
The lorry was covering a route from Tangiers to Germany; it’s driver escaped unhurt.
