The ITB tourism fair is currently on in Berlin

Budgetary restrictions by both central and regional Valencia governments mean that almost a million € less will be spent in promoting the Costa Blanca internationally this year. It leaves about two million which will be spent promoting the municipalities of the area in the hope to attract tourists.

The cutback comes at a delicate time for the industry on the Costa Blanca, especially as it seems the British market has not recovered over the low season.

Información newspaper reports that hoteliers in Benidorm have attacked the cuts saying that the industry is being mistreated by the administration, when compared to other sectors.
