La Razón headlines that the Partido Popular will overturn the abortion law when they reach government. The statement comes from the party’s leader in Cataluña, Alicia Sánchez-Camacho, who is interviewed by the paper.
The paper also reports that PP leader, Mariano Rajoy, has called for a ‘serious pact’ with the Prime Minister, like the one the PP and PSOE have in the Basque Country.
Público tells is that the General Secretary of the Partido Popular has never been to Valencia or Murcia.

El País leads with the headlines that Spanish patients have paid for liver transplants in China. The paper says one patient paid 13,000 € for a surgery, and he tells the paper how the illegal business works.

Público leads with data from the Centre for Sociological Investigation and headlines that the young are turning their back on the monarchy. The paper says the image for the Crown is at all-time low among those who did not live through the attempted coup 23-F

El Mundo reports that the sexual abuse carried out by an ex Karate champion could make him the protagonist of the largest case of child abuse in Spain.

ABC headlines that Mauritania is prepared to release Islamist prisoners in exchange for the release of the two Spanish aid workers. The paper says a negotiator from Burkina Fasso is working for the freedom of Vilalta and Pascual.

El Mundo has an interview with the American husband of the woman from Valencia involved in a custody battle over their daughter, María José Carrascosa. Peter Innes tells the paper that he has been made to look like a monster.

El País reports that the Vatican has admitted that it has investigated 3,000 priests in case they were paedophiles. Rome has blamed 60% of the cases on ‘efebofilia’, that’s to say the sexual attraction by adolescents for the same sex, 30% for heterosexual relations and only 10% for real paedophiles.

ABC says that the Spanish Ministry for Defence will offer papers to immigrants who are doctors, so they can take part in missions overseas. The paper says that not even Spanish residency is needed for those who want to study in the army health academy-

El País has an interview with the Israeli President, Simon Peres. He says let’s call Amadineyad by his name – dictator. He also tells the paper that Israel does not have the option to obtain a just resolution from the United Nations.

ABC notes that Hugo Chávez has given a warning to Spanish businesses in Venezuela, as the row over ETA continues.
El Mundo headlines that Arnaldo Otegi, from ETA’s political wing, has said that ETA joins the procession towards peace, or it commits suicide. He describes the terrorists as a joke. Meanwhile the paper also reports that all the Basque parties want the Anza case fully investigated. He’s the ETA activist whose body has been in the morgue in Tolouse for ten months without being identified.

El País notes that Zapatero has given his backing to the new Socialist leader in Andalucía, José Antonio Griñán, given the bad polls.
El Mundo notes that the Prime Minister has attacked the Partido Popular because of their rebellion against the increase in IVA/VAT.
El Mundo describes Spanish private pensions as a fiasco, noting that a Spanish fund is four times less profitable than a British one, and the commissions charged, double.

La Razón tells us that electricity for industry is most expensive in Europe in Spain and Ireland.

El País has a photo of Fernando Alonso in his red Ferrari as the new Formula One season gets underway. The paper notes that he will start third on the grid today behind Vettel in the Red Bull and his teammate Felipe Massa.

And finally,
La Razón has a photo from the funeral for Miguel Delibes, and notes that more than 3,000 people packed into the Valladolid Cathedral, and that his remains now lie at peace next to his wife.
ABC also has a photo with the caption – Goodbye to the Nobel of the people.
