An investigation is underway in Vigo to see if four babies were given sleeping pills in a nursery in the town. Four babies were admitted to the Xeral Hospital in Vigo over recent days with ‘symptoms of intoxication’ and the belief is they had been given some form of tranquiliser.
Hospital sources say that three of the four babies have been allowed home and the health of the fourth is now good. Their ages are between 0 and 2. They had been admitted last Friday afternoon and Saturday morning.
The nursery’s only comment was that the matter is now in the courts, and the investigating judge has now closed the premises and introduced reporting restrictions.
The regional Xunta say that all the information they have on the case has been given to the judge.
