Messi was on the top of his form yet again to lead Barcelona to a 4-2 win at Zaragoza. Messi scored three goals and forced a penalty, but Ibrahimovic was well off his form. Colunga scored twice for Zaragoza.

So there is no change at the top as Real Madrid came back from behind to win on Saturday with a 3-1 result at home against Sporting.

Valencia are now third, and it was David Silva who was on the top of his game scoring a grand goal and controlling play. They came out 2-0 winners against Almería who had their worst game for some time.

Better news for Málaga who got a 2-0 win at home against Villarreal.

Raul García was sent off in the Atlético match against Mallorca. It was 4-1 in the Ono Estadi as Mallorca humiliated the Madrid side.

Navas from Sevilla was injured with a sprain taking him out for three to four weeks.
