Fernando Alonso won the German Grand Prix on Sunday after team Ferrari considered his car to be faster than his team mate Felipe Massa in the last laps of the race.
Massa had taken advantage of the fight between Alonso and Vettel to take the lead, but ended the race in second, to give Ferrari their first one-two since the first race of the season in Bahrain.
The coded orders from Ferrari took the shine off the result and Felipe Massa was far from happy, and the team was fined 100,000 $ for breaking the rule which says that teams are not allowed to interfere with a race result. Massa claimed it was his decision to let Alonso pass, but radio communications from the team indicate otherwise.
In addition to the fine the matter is being referred to the World Motorsport Council for further possible punishment.
