The Judge in Instruction Court 1 in Marbella, Ricardo Puyol, has claimed that one of the companies linked to the Scottish actor, Sean Connery, and his wife, Micheline is ‘opaque’. The description is found in the summary of the case, known as ‘Goldfinger’ which has been seen by the EFE news agency.
The magistrate notes that the company, By The Sea S.L., was set up initially by companies based in financial havens, and so the identity of those to profit from the business is unknown.
Withdrawals were made from the company as the apartments built on the site of the previous Connery villa, Malibu, were sold, with the court document saying ‘large amounts of foreign currency’ were moved at the end of 2005.
The actor and his wife are indicted in two separate cases being investigated by Instruction Court 1 in Marbella; the ‘Goldfinger’ case regarding the sale of the Malibu villa and the subsequent construction of 72 luxury flats on the site completed in 2004 and 2005, and the case of a development in Málaga City, Colinas de Limonar, where a company allegedly linked to Connery is thought to have committed a fiscal fraud of 1.6million €.
Juan Antonio Roca, the Municipal Real Estate Assessor who is at the centre of the Malaya case, is also implicated in the Malibu case where it is thought that two of the flats were fraudulently paid as commission.
