Clear skies across the country today with twelve provinces on yellow alert for temperatures of 39 degrees

Areas of Cádiz, Córdoba, Sevilla, Jaén, Badajoz, Cáceres, Toledo, Madrid, Lugo, Pontevedra and Orense are all on yellow alert from the Spanish Meteorological Agency.
Cloudy with showers in eastern Cantabria and the western Pyrenees, with the rain more likely in the morning. Cloudy too at times with the chance of a shower on the Baleares and east of Cataluña.
Elsewhere clear skies and high temp

eratures with the chance of a cloudy interval in the Strait and Melilla.

Winds moderate to strong Levante in the Strait and Moderate in the Alborán.
Weak to moderate N in the northern half of the mainland and on Menorca, with strong intervals in Gerona at the start of the day. Moderate N on the Canaries.
