Following the collapse of Birmingham travel company Sun4u last week, which left 1,200 British holidaymakers stranded in Spain, Tuesday has seen the announcement that Kiss Flights has ceased trading.
Kiss, which was only established at the end of 2008, offered flights to Greece, Egypt, Turkey and the Canaries. It’s believed that tens of thousands of British holidaymakers are stranded abroad and many more will have had advance bookings.
The company did have an ATOL licence but it is unclear of all the passengers booked to travel in September, some 70,000, will be covered.
It is unclear at this stage how many travellers to the Canaries have been affected.
A message was posted on the Kiss owner Flight Options’ website saying the Flight Options Group had ceased trading as of 1700 on August 17th, and that the Civil Aviations Authority has been informed. The Kiss flights website appears to have crashed with the demand.
We understand that those currently abroad will be taken back to Britain without problems.
Those wanting further information are advised by Flight Options to go to the ATOL site -
