The Spanish Prime Minister, speaking in Tokyo, has said that he will ‘continue to take difficult decisions if they are necessary’. José Luis Rodríguez Zapatero defended his plans for labour reform, despite the opposition from the unions and the call for a General Strike on September 29. He said the sacrifices of today are the well being of tomorrow.
‘A responsible government knows that there are moments in the history of the country when you have to take decisions, and although these are difficult and hard, I have done so, and will continue to do so if necessary, because the future well being of the country is at stake’, he said to the Japan National Press Club.
Meanwhile the opposition leader of the Partido Popular, Mariano Rajoy, is meeting today,

Rajoy will be locked up with his top players for two days, as the landscape is marked by forthcoming elections in some of the regions and the local polls next year. The PP will launch their new program at a rally in Galicia on the fourth of the month.
