Known as the teddy bear thief, a man has now been arrested by the Guardia Civil in Camagro, in Cantabria, accused of stealing from inside cars which had teddy bears visible.
The man worked across the region, principally in Santander, Astillero, Solares and Maliaño, and is charged with stealing from the inside of 54 vehicles.
A search of his home revealed several stolen items, including more than 30 teddy bears.
A Guardia Civil spokesman said the man had ‘a highly specialised’ home made device to gain access to the vehicles, taking what was inside, but generally targeting teddy bears. He has been ordered directly to prison and will appear in court shortly.
