The Spanish Meteorological Office has issued an orange alert for rough seas off A Coruña, with yellow alerts in place for the rest of the northern coast and also along the coasts of Granada, Almería and Murcia.
There are also yellow alerts for storms along the border area with France.
Light to moderate rain in the north, occasionally stormy in places and weaker the further south you go. No rain is expected along the levante coast or the SE of the mainland where clear skies will dominate.
High cloud on the Baleares and cloudy on the north of the Canaries.
Winds will be W, moderate to strong in the Strait and along the Mediterranean Andalucian coast, as well as in Galicia, but will weaken during the afternoon.
Very strong gusts along the Cantabrian coast.
Weak to moderate elsewhere.
Maximum temperatures will be as much as seven degrees cooler in the north, five or six in the centre, and four degrees in the south.

Temperatures will recover at the weekend and it will be drier from Thursday. As yet there is no forecast of any Gota Fria, the seasonable downpours often seen at this time of year along the Mediterranean.
