Nine people have died and another 20 have been injured in a coach crash which happened between the Spanish north African enclave of Ceuta and Tetuán on Wednedsday.
The coach was carrying 45 Portuguese tourists who were on a trip to the north of Morocco, having arrived in Cueta on a cruise liner from Maderia.
The Spanish driver of the coach was only slightly hurt and is being treated in a Moroccan hospital, according to the Spanish Foreign Ministry which confirmed that he was the only Spaniard on the bus.
Witnesses said the accident happened two kilometres from Castillejos, on the Ceuta border, and the driver of the bus appeared to lose control in the rain, crossing the four lane road from one side to the other and then falling down a six metre drop.
The Moroccan authorities are reported to be investigating a reported excessive speed.
