More than 250 reptiles and amphibians were recovered

The environment protection wing of the Civil Guard, Seprona, has uncovered an illegal reptile breeding business in the town of Lorca.

A boa from Haiti, a royal python are among the 250 reptiles and amphibians recovered over the past few days.

The authorities also found hundreds of thousands of worms, prawns, grasshoppers and cockroaches which were being used to feed the reptiles. A Dutchman has been arrested. It’s thought he had been running the business for less than a month.
