A total of 43 provinces are on alert today for rough coastal conditions, low temperatures and strong winds, according the Spanish Meteorological Agency AEMET.

There is a yellow low temperatures alert in place in Andalucía, Aragón, Cantabria, Castilla-La Mancha, Castilla y León, Madrid, Navarra, Extremadura, La Rioja, Asturias and the provinces of Lugo, Ourense, Lleida, Barcelona and Girona.

The orange alert for rough seas runs in Fuerteventrua, Gran Canaria, Lanzarote, Girona and Mallorca and Menorca.
Navarra, Tarragina, Zaragoza and Teruel are on yellow alert for winds, which will rise to Orange in Girona.

The snowline will start on the mainland and Baleares at 800m, reducing to 200/400.

Cloudy in Cantabria with the chance of a shower in the east, and cloudy intervals elsewhere in the north of the mainland. Chance of rain on the Catalan coast and on the Baleares.
Cloudy intervals in the Strait with the chance of a shower in Melilla.
Generally clear and sunny in the rest of the mainland. Cloudy or very cloudy on the Canaries.
Winds weak to moderate N in most of the country, except in the southern third of the mainland where they will be weak and variable. Strong gusts in the Ebro Valley, Menora and Canaries.

Outlook
Little change over a cold weekend. There will be cloud along the Mediterranean coast at times and rain on the Canaries and Baleares. The north of the mainland will also be cloudy.
