Construction of a 300 square metre house near Motril has been halted
Two women have been arrested for building a house on a protected archaeological site in Motril.
The site, in the area known as Cerro Polo near Puntalón, dates from the Bronze Age and has special protection under Motril’s latest local development plan, the PGOU. The land is also classified as not suitable for development, and there was no planning permission issued for the new construction.
The partially-built 300 square metre construction, which was built on the site of an old toolshed, has been sealed off and construction halted. It will almost certainly be demolished.
