Five of the arrests took place in
Torremolinos and
Benalmádena, and all those arrested are said to be linked to an international network of Albanian-Kosovo thieves. They are aged between 19 and 32.
Police say the group always worked between midnight and six am, when the owners of the properties were asleep inside.
They had generally kept watch on the property, and the local civil guard for several days before making their move. The group were after cash and small items which they removed from the scene in rucksacks.
Most of the villas they attacked were in the
Sotogrande area.
