smallerBy m.p. - Oct 23, 2006 - 9:52 PMThe pipeline will stretch beneath the sea from the Algerian coast to Almería provinceThe Industry Ministry has issued a resolution authorising a project by the Medgaz consortium to build a pipeline which will deliver natural gas from Algeria to Southern Europe via Spain.
The pipeline will stretch from the coastal city of
Beni Saf to
Almería province, traversing the sea bed at depths of more than 2,000 metres over the 200 hundred kilometres which separate the two shores.
4.7 kilometres of its length will be built in Spanish waters.
The pipeline will extend another 253 metres once it reaches the shores of Almería.
