The situation is being reported to the public prosecutor
The Mayor of Torrox, Francisco Muñoz, has announced that the Council is reporting to the prosecutors office private building work taking place on the coast which has caused damage to archaeological remains on Avenida del Faro.
The work, which is being carried out without authorisation, has uncovered ceramic remains dating from the 1st to 5th centuries B.C.
The Town Hall has refused permission for work on the building on five occasions since 2000: it was built as a show house for an urbanisation and has been subject to a number of fining proceedings since then.
