They want the plant to be further away from population centres
A residents platform in Balanegra has announced that they plan to ask for a meeting with the central government representative for Almería province, Miguel Corpas, to discuss the site chosen for a new desalination plant to serve the Campo de Dalías.
They want him to mediate with the state water company Acuamed to change the site from the current choice in the Rambla de Balanegra.
The residents say an alternative site in El Palmer would have fewer negative consequences as it is further away from population centres.
